Flat Kart Rules:
Go Karts, Outlaw Karts, Cage Karts
We will be using general rules overall with these exceptions below.
Flat Kart 212 -
5 to 12 Jr. Div. - 13 y/o and up
SR. Div - 14 and up.
Adult Flat Kart Division. The weight limit in this class is 375 pounds minimum, car and driver. Ages 14-99. All other rules in the division would be the same.
1) Children may not move up to the Flat Kart adult class until they are 14 y/o.
2) To race in the Flat Kart Adult division you must either have a child racing with us, be a track official, track sponsor or special permission from the race director.
3) There will be no points accumulated in the ADULT Flat Kart division.
• Stock "appearing" 212 Predator engine (No Predator Ghost engines)
** Governors may be removed or tied back for the Jr., Sr. and Heavy Divisions.
NO TURBOS on engine.
NO "Slide style" carbs allowed. Carb must be stock appearing.
Oil sensor may be disconnected or removed.
On and off button must be operational and/or may be wired to a switch for easier access.
Fuel pumps may be used. Either a remote or stock gas tanks may be used.
Again, Stock or stock style carburetors must be used ONLY. Chokes may be removed.
Aluminum or stock flywheels may be used.
Strait pipe with no muffler is legal.
External electric or rope starter may be used.
Any air filter may be used.
Any gear ratio.
Weight
* 250 lbs min weight for Jr. (car and driver)
(weights must be added if need be. They must be securely bolted in.)
* 375 lbs min weight for Sr. classes. (car and driver)
(weights must be added if need be. They must be securely bolted in.)
Governor may be removed
• Any Centrifugal Clutch.
• Open Tire Rule (No Aggressive lawn mower Tires Allowed)
* Pump .98 or lower Gasoline Fuel only, no race fuel.
* Nose piece and/or side panels may be added. Side panels can not be higher than the drivers shoulders.
* A flat plate or wing may be added to the back of the car. It may NOT be wider or higher than the drivers shoulders.
* The kart must have front and back bumpers.
* Jr. Div. must have orange rear bumper (paint or tape)
* Must have side pods or nerf bars of some kind.
* Max wheel size is Six Inches.
* Standard non-suspension race kart frame must be used. No yard carts.
* NO roll bars or seat belts. Exception- (Champ and Outlaw Kart cars may race but you must have seat belts and wrist restraints if you do. No top or nose wings allowed at this time. Please see below)
All Flat Kart classes must have:
2 Kart Minimum average for the year to make a class.
DRIVER SAFETY EQUIPMENT:
Gloves
*Must completely cover the hands and fingers.
Helmet
*SA 2010, DOT 2010 or newer required.
*Visor must be down at all times while on track.
**May use Moto cross helmets but moto cross goggles must be used, no glasses or sunglasses.
Neck Collar
*Mandatory
Hans device or similar may be used.
Suit/Jacket
*Minimum of SFI rating of 3.2A/1 RECOMMENDED and must provide full coverage from neck to waist and gloves. A kart Abrasion suit or thick long sleeve shirt or jacket may also be used.
Pants
*Minimum of Denim material, Abrasion suits recommended, also recommended that pants carry a SFI 3.2A-1 rating.
*At Minimum Kart drivers must wear an approved helmet, long sleeve shirt, jeans, closed toe shoes, some kind of gloves.
* IF DRIVING AN OUTLAW OR CAGE KART A 5 POINT SEAT HARNESS AND A FIRE PROOF JACKET AND PANTS OR AT A MINIMUM JEANS, AND MUST BE USED ALONG WITH ABOVE KART RULES.
